Amarnath Yatra remain suspended for third consecutive day, pilgrims stranded

No fresh batch of pilgrims are allowed to continue their Amarnath pilgrimage as the Yatra remain suspended for third consecutive day after the recent aftermath which followed after the killing of Hizbul Mujahedeen commander Burhan Wani. The security personnel are trying to control the law and order in the region. Around 25,000 pilgrims are believed to be stranded at the base camp at Baltal.

The stranded pilgrims, although, have been provided accommodation, food and other facilities at the base camp. The pilgrims stranded at Jammu are determined to visit the Amarnath shrine and are hopeful that the situation will be under control and the Yatra will resumed soon.
