Amarnath Dham Yatra

Amarnath 2018 Opening and Closing Dates

The Amarnath pilgrimage is open for devotees for only two months every year, during the month of July and August as the weather become gentler for pilgrims to make their journey to the holy shrine. For the rest of the year, the holy shrine lies dormant under the snow. The dates of the Amarnath pilgrimage commence on the auspicious day of Skandshasthi on 28th June and conclude on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) on 26th August, 2018.

Starting Date of Amarnath Yatra is 28 June, 2018.

Ending Date of Amarnath Yatra is 06 August, 2018.

Registrations have opened on 01 Mar 2018 simultaneously for both the Baltal and Chandanwari (Pahalgam) routes. As per the rules, no pilgrim is allowed to proceed on the journey without a Registration Card or Permit. It is now essential for the applicant pilgrim to submit Compulsory Health Certificate while seeking registration for this year’s Amarnath Yatra.

Considering the present carrying capacity of the tracks, available infrastructure in the Yatra area and all other relevant considerations the Board decided that, excluding Yatris who would travel by heli-copters on either route to Panjtarni, 7500 pilgrims would be allowed to register for Yatra 2018 on per day per route basis. The registration and bookings for this years Amanrath Shrine have started.
